Black Sunday
April 1935 disaster
Black Sunday refers to any of several historically catastrophic Sundays, most famously April 14, 1935, when massive dust storms swept across the American Great Plains during the Dust Bowl era, turning day to night and displacing millions of tons of topsoil.
The term has also been applied to other disastrous events occurring on Sundays: The documentary covered Black Sunday and its aftermath.
It's additionally the title of a 1977 thriller film about a terrorist attack at the Super Bowl.
