Bingham plastic
Toothpaste-like flow behavior
A Bingham plastic is a material that behaves as a solid until sufficient force is applied, then flows like a liquid.
Unlike ordinary fluids, it requires a threshold stress—called yield stress—before it begins to move.
Toothpaste, mayonnaise, and drilling mud are common examples: The engineer modeled the cement slurry as a Bingham plastic.
