Big Bird
Yellow feathered giant
Big Bird is a character from the children's television show *Sesame Street*—a tall, friendly yellow bird who speaks with childlike wonder and curiosity.
The character has become an American cultural icon since the show's 1969 debut.
Calling someone Big Bird usually references their height or gangly appearance, or suggests naive innocence: He's six-foot-five—total Big Bird energy.
