Berber rug
North African carpet
A Berber rug is a handwoven carpet traditionally made by the Berber peoples of North Africa, characterized by a looped pile construction and often featuring geometric patterns or neutral colors.
The term now applies broadly to any carpet with a similar looped texture, regardless of origin: We chose a Berber rug for the family room because it hides footprints.
