B-roads

Not the motorway

B-roads are secondary public roads in Britain, designated by numbers prefixed with B (B1234).

They're narrower and less traveled than A-roads, often winding through villages and countryside rather than connecting major destinations.

We took the B-roads to avoid motorway traffic.

The term sometimes suggests scenic but slower routes.
