Arabian camels
One-humped desert beasts
Arabian camels are the one-humped camels native to the Middle East and North Africa, distinguished from the two-humped Bactrian camels of Central Asia.
Also called dromedaries, they are the more common species, adapted to hot desert climates: Arabian camels can go days without water.
Most camels people picture are Arabian camels.
