Adopt-a-Highway

Litter cleanup program

Adopt-a-Highway is a program in which volunteers—often businesses, civic groups, or families—agree to maintain a stretch of public roadway, typically by picking up litter.

In exchange, a sign acknowledges the group's sponsorship: The Rotary Club's name appears on the Adopt-a-Highway sign at mile marker 12.

The program exists throughout the United States under various names.
