Achilles' tendon
Calf-to-heel connector
The Achilles' tendon is the thick cord connecting the calf muscles to the heel bone, the strongest tendon in the human body.
It enables walking, running, and jumping.
The name comes from the Greek hero Achilles, whose only vulnerable spot was his heel: She ruptured her Achilles' tendon playing basketball.
