A negative
Minority donor classification
A negative is a photographic image in which light and dark areas are reversed—what was bright appears dark and vice versa.
Before digital photography, negatives were the intermediate step between shooting and printing; you developed the negative, then used it to produce positive prints.
The term persists in phrases like I still have the negatives somewhere.
In medicine, a negative is a test result showing absence of what was tested for: The biopsy came back negative.
