8th note
Quaver in music
An 8th note is a musical note lasting half a beat in common time, or half the duration of a quarter note.
Also called a quaver in British terminology.
Written with a filled notehead and a single flag on the stem, 8th notes often appear in pairs or groups connected by a beam: The melody moves in quick 8th notes.
