zeppoles
Italian fried pastries
Zeppoles are Italian fried dough pastries, typically ball-shaped and dusted with powdered sugar.
They're traditional fare at Italian-American street festivals and on Saint Joseph's Day.
Some versions are filled with custard or ricotta.
Also spelled zeppoli.
We got zeppoles from the food truck at the feast.
