yellow lines
Lane division markers
Yellow lines are road markings that regulate parking or indicate traffic lanes.
In British usage, single and double yellow lines along curbs restrict parking—single lines during certain hours, double lines at all times: I got a ticket for parking on double yellow lines.
In American usage, yellow lines typically divide opposing traffic lanes, with double yellow prohibiting passing.
