yaki udon
Japanese fried noodles
Yaki udon is a Japanese stir-fried noodle dish made with thick, chewy udon noodles, vegetables, and usually meat or seafood, seasoned with soy sauce or a similar savory sauce.
It's a popular comfort food, less well-known outside Japan than its thin-noodle cousin yakisoba: We ordered yaki udon from the izakaya down the street.
