Fish flakes are dried fish food sold in thin, flat pieces that float on the water's surface, making them easy for aquarium fish to eat: I feed the goldfish flakes twice a day.
The term can also refer to flaked fish meat used in cooking, or to outdoor wooden platforms traditionally used in Atlantic Canada and Scandinavia for drying salted cod.
