world's fastest woman

Top female sprinter

World's fastest woman is a title given to whoever holds the women's world record in the 100-meter sprint—the standard measure of pure speed.

The phrase appears in sports coverage and casual conversation alike: She's been called the world's fastest woman since breaking the record in 2021.

The designation shifts as records fall.
