wiffle-ball
Holey plastic sphere
Wiffle ball is a backyard variant of baseball played with a lightweight plastic ball full of oblong holes and a thin plastic bat.
The perforated ball curves dramatically and travels short distances, making it ideal for small yards.
The game emerged in the 1950s and remains popular for casual play: We played wiffle ball in the driveway until dark.
