washrooms

Facilities for hygiene

Washrooms is the plural of washroom, a term for a room with a toilet and sink, especially in public buildings.

The word is more common in Canadian English than American, where restroom or bathroom typically prevails: The washrooms are down the hall on your left.

In older usage, a washroom was simply a room for washing.
