washing feet
Scrubbing your soles
Washing feet is the act of cleaning someone's feet, often as a gesture of humility, service, or hospitality.
The practice has deep religious significance in Christianity, reenacting Jesus washing his disciples' feet before the Last Supper.
Churches perform ritual foot washing on Maundy Thursday.
Beyond religious contexts, washing feet can simply mean cleaning one's own feet: I need to wash my feet before bed.
