acts of service
Doing for others
Acts of service is one of the "five love languages"—ways people express and receive affection.
Someone whose love language is acts of service feels most cared for when others do helpful things: cooking a meal, running errands, handling a chore without being asked.
The phrase has spread beyond romantic relationships to describe any gesture where helping *is* the message: Her acts of service spoke louder than words ever could.
