washbowl

Old-fashioned bathroom item

A washbowl is a basin for washing hands and face.

The term is somewhat old-fashioned, largely replaced by sink in American usage: The bedroom had a washbowl and pitcher.

Washbowl may also refer to the bowl portion of a modern bathroom sink.
