wall up
Close with masonry
To wall up is to enclose or seal something by building a wall around or in front of it.
Doorways and windows get walled up to block entry: They walled up the old entrance when they renovated.
The term carries sinister overtones from stories of people being walled up alive—entombed within masonry as punishment or murder.
