Visual voicemail displays voicemail messages as a list on a smartphone screen, allowing users to see caller information and select messages in any order rather than listening through them sequentially.
Before visual voicemail, checking messages meant dialing in and navigating audio menus: I can just tap the one from my boss instead of sitting through five other messages first.
