visual thinking
Thinking in pictures
Visual thinking is reasoning through mental images rather than words or numbers.
Some people naturally process information by picturing it—rotating objects in their minds, visualizing relationships, or thinking in spatial terms: I'm a visual thinker, so I sketch problems before solving them.
The term also describes techniques like mind mapping and diagramming that externalize thought visually.
