victim playing
Acting unfairly treated
Victim playing is portraying oneself as wronged or mistreated to gain sympathy, deflect criticism, or manipulate others—often when the claimed victimhood is exaggerated or false.
The term is usually accusatory, suggesting strategic self-pity rather than genuine grievance: Every time you call him out, he starts victim playing.
