pity party
Self-sorrow indulgence
A pity party is a bout of self-indulgent wallowing in one's own misfortune, often with exaggerated grievances: Stop throwing yourself a pity party and do something about it.
The term is almost always dismissive, used to criticize someone for seeking sympathy rather than solutions.
One can throw, have, or host a pity party—usually a party of one.
