vermicular

Like a worm

Vermicular means resembling or relating to worms—their shape, movement, or the tracks they leave.

The word appears in technical contexts: vermicular markings on bird feathers look like worm trails; vermicular motion describes the wave-like contractions of the intestines (also called peristalsis).

The fossil showed vermicular burrows in ancient sediment.
