unshelving

Removing from storage

Unshelving is the act of removing something from a shelf, typically books in a library context.

More commonly, it refers to reviving or reactivating something that had been set aside: The studio is unshelving the project after finding new funding.

A plan or proposal that was shelved—postponed indefinitely—gets unshelved when circumstances change and it becomes viable again.
