unquotes
Finishes quoted passage
Unquotes signals the end of quoted material in speech, paired with "quote" at the beginning: He said, quote, I'll be there, unquote.
The construction marks off someone else's words without using actual quotation marks.
Sometimes both words appear together—quote unquote—to flag a term as dubious or ironic: his quote unquote expertise.
