uninfectable

Resistant to pathogens

Uninfectable describes something that cannot become infected, whether by disease, computer virus, or other contaminating agent.

The term appears most often in medical and technical contexts: The researchers claimed the modified cells were uninfectable by HIV.

It can also describe systems or materials designed to resist contamination: The new server architecture is supposedly uninfectable.

Like many words formed with the prefix un- and suffix -able, it carries a sense of absolute immunity rather than mere resistance.
