ungood

Opposite of positive

Ungood means bad or not good.

The word is rarely used in natural English but gained prominence through George Orwell's *1984*, where it appears in Newspeak—a language designed to eliminate nuance and restrict thought.

In the novel, replacing "bad" with "ungood" demonstrates how controlling vocabulary can limit expression: The party deemed his thoughts ungood.
