undamped
Without losing amplitude
Undamped describes vibrations, oscillations, or waves that continue at constant amplitude without losing energy over time.
In physics and engineering, an undamped system has no friction or resistance to gradually reduce its motion: an undamped pendulum would swing forever.
The term contrasts with damped systems, where oscillations progressively diminish.
Figuratively, undamped can describe enthusiasm or emotions that remain undiminished: Her undamped optimism carried the team through setbacks.
