twinkler

Star or firefly

A twinkler is something or someone that twinkles—emitting light with a flickering, sparkling quality.

Stars are the quintessential twinklers, but the word applies to anything that glimmers intermittently: Christmas lights, sequins, or eyes bright with mischief.

The little twinklers in the garden turned out to be fireflies.
