tuberculosis screening
Lung infection test
Tuberculosis screening is testing to detect TB infection, typically through a skin test or blood test.
The skin test (Mantoux or PPD) involves injecting a small amount of protein under the skin and checking for a reaction after 48-72 hours.
Screening is often required for healthcare workers, teachers, immigrants, and others at elevated risk: New employees must complete tuberculosis screening before starting work.
