trucker cap
Foam-fronted hat
A trucker cap is a casual baseball-style hat with a foam front panel and mesh backing for ventilation.
Originally promotional items for agricultural and trucking companies, they became fashion items—first ironically among hipsters, then broadly.
The mesh back distinguishes them from standard baseball caps: He grabbed his trucker cap off the dashboard.
