trapper keeper
Flap-closure binder
A trapper keeper is a brand of loose-leaf binder popular among American schoolchildren, especially in the 1980s and 1990s.
It featured folders with pockets, rings for paper, and a flap that wrapped around and fastened with Velcro.
The term became generic for any similar school organizer: I kept all my homework in my trapper keeper.
