touchless faucets
Sensor-activated water fixtures
Touchless faucets are fixtures that turn water on and off without physical contact, using infrared sensors to detect hand movement beneath the spout.
Common in public restrooms for hygiene reasons, they've spread to home kitchens and bathrooms: We installed touchless faucets to keep the handles clean while cooking.
Also called hands-free or automatic faucets.
