topspin serve
Dipping ball attack
A topspin serve in tennis or table tennis is hit with forward rotation, causing the ball to dip sharply and bounce high.
The server brushes up and over the ball at contact, creating spin that pulls it down into the service box.
The resulting kick makes it harder for opponents to return aggressively: Her topspin serve jumps right into the backhand.
