tooth implant
Artificial dental root
A tooth implant is an artificial tooth root, typically a titanium post surgically placed in the jawbone to support a replacement tooth or bridge.
Unlike dentures, implants are permanent fixtures that fuse with the bone: She got a tooth implant after losing her molar in an accident.
Also called dental implant.
