dental bridge
Gap-spanning prosthetic
A dental bridge is a prosthetic device that replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring artificial teeth to the natural teeth or implants on either side of the gap.
The supporting teeth are called abutments, and the false tooth or teeth spanning the space are called pontics.
The dentist recommended a bridge rather than implants.
