tintinnabulation

Bells' melodic chiming

Tintinnabulation is the ringing or tinkling sound of bells.

The word is literary and deliberately ornate, often used when a writer wants to evoke the quality of bell sounds rather than simply describe them: The tintinnabulation of the church bells filled the valley.

Edgar Allan Poe famously repeated the word in his poem "The Bells."
