time-servers
Conformists seeking advancement
Time-servers are people who adapt their opinions and behavior to please those in power, prioritizing personal advancement over principle.
The term is contemptuous: The committee was filled with time-servers who never challenged the chairman.
A time-server waits out their position, doing the minimum while watching which way the wind blows.
