three-wheel
One fewer than four
Three-wheel functions as an adjective describing vehicles or devices with three wheels rather than the standard four: a three-wheel motorcycle, three-wheel stroller.
The configuration appears in motor scooters, all-terrain vehicles, and compact cars designed for maneuverability or economy.
To three-wheel is also slang for being the odd one out when two others are coupled—the third wheel.
