thread starter
First post author
Thread starter is the person who creates a new discussion thread on an internet forum or message board.
The term identifies who initiated the conversation, often abbreviated TS in replies: As the thread starter mentioned, we're discussing the original game, not the sequel.
Forums sometimes give thread starters special privileges like editing the first post or marking the thread resolved.
