thirst traps
Attention-seeking hot photos
A thirst trap is a provocative photo or video posted on social media to attract attention and validation—fishing for likes, comments, and desire.
The "thirst" is the audience's hunger for the person depicted; the "trap" is the calculated bait: She posted a thirst trap in her new bikini.
The term can describe both the content and the person posting it.
