temple wedding
Holy place ceremony
A temple wedding is a marriage ceremony performed in a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
These ceremonies are considered sacred ordinances that seal couples for eternity, not just until death.
Only church members in good standing may attend, making temple weddings exclusive events that sometimes require separate receptions for non-member family and friends: Her parents couldn't attend because they weren't temple-worthy.
