teetotalists
Never touch alcohol
Teetotalists are people who abstain completely from alcoholic drinks.
The word comes from an emphatic repetition of the T in "total"—as in "T-total abstinence." The movement gained prominence in 19th-century temperance campaigns: Her grandparents were strict teetotalists who never kept liquor in the house.
Also spelled teetotalers.
