tarballs
Beach pollution lumps
Tarballs are clumps of crude oil that wash up on beaches after spills or natural seepage, weathered into sticky black masses by sun and seawater.
In computing, a tarball is an archive file created by the Unix tar utility, often compressed: Download the tarball and extract it.
The name comes from "tar archive," with the playful suffix matching the petroleum sense.
