tail gate
Truck's rear door
A tail gate (usually written as one word: tailgate) is the hinged rear door of a truck bed, station wagon, or SUV that swings down or out for loading.
To tailgate is to drive dangerously close behind another vehicle, or to host a parking-lot party before a sporting event—typically with food and drinks served from an open tailgate: We tailgated for hours before the game.
