syllogize
Draw logical conclusions
To syllogize is to reason through syllogisms—the formal logical arguments where a conclusion follows from two premises.
From "all men are mortal" and "Socrates is a man," we syllogize that Socrates is mortal.
The word carries a slightly academic or philosophical flavor, sometimes used dismissively to suggest overly rigid or pedantic reasoning.
