swing bridges
Rotating river crossings
A swing bridge is a movable bridge that rotates horizontally on a central pivot to allow boats to pass.
Unlike drawbridges that lift upward, swing bridges turn parallel to the waterway, opening a channel on one or both sides: The swing bridge rotated to let the barge through.
